traunkirchen on lake traunsee - a universe for a hollow hand

beginning in the 19th and 20th centuries, important artists from different fields frequented traunkirchen in the salzkammergut to be inspired by the attractive interplay of the mountains and water. franz schubert, richard gerstl and hugo wolf, for example, were welcome and regular summer visitors. several decades later, after this longtime tradition has ebbed away, it is being revived in new splendour.

the summer academy traunkirchen invites artists, all those interested in the fine arts, and committed admirers of painting, drawing and photography/media to follow the tradition and to explore the cosmopolitan spirit of the picturesque village again.
